The Aqara LED Strip T1 is a smart LED strip controller that comes with a 2 meters of LED strip in the kit.
The 2 m basic strip length included in the kit can be extended up to 10m, for which Aqara offers an additional product called “LED Strip Extension”. The additional LED strip is available in 1 meter units and can also be cut in 20 cm increments.
The 1 meter extension strips can be used to easily illuminate shorter sections such as stair treads, shelves, furnitures.
The Aqara LED Strip T1 product requires an Aqara Zigbee HUB, which acts as the central unit for the Zigbee LED control. If connected to the Aqara M2 hub, the device is Matter standard compatible.
As with other Aqara smart home devices, it is Apple HomeKit compatible (including Adaptive Lighting), compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control, and compatible with the IFTTT app and system.
The RGB CCT (colour + white) LED strip is IP44 rated, so it can be used outdoors and it can display up to 16 million colours. As it is an RGBIC LED strip, each section can be lit in a different colour and can display stunning colour transitions and colour effects. (RGB IC functions only support color controls at this time, not white light)
It also has a “music sync mode”, which allows you to change the lighting to the beat of the music. But you can also choose from the many lighting images in the app’s list.
Thanks to the Zigbee 3.0 smart home networking protocol, it has low idle power consumption and does not overload the Wi-Fi network.
It also transmits the Zigbee network signal as a Zigbee Mesh to Zigbee devices installed further away from the Zigbee core unit.
