The SMLIGHT SLZB-MR1U is a modular, multi-protocol LAN adapter that enables centralized control of Zigbee, Thread and even Z-Wave systems (via a USB dongle) from a single Ethernet-connected device. With the built-in USB passthrough over TCP/IP function, a connected USB dongle (e.g., Z-Wave or other USB-UART device) is exposed on the network as a remote serial port — as if it were plugged directly into your server.

The MR1U offers PoE-capable Ethernet, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, USB-C power and a USB-A host port. It uses a TI CC2652P radio as a Zigbee coordinator and an EFR32MG21 radio as a Thread Border Router, while an ESP32 handles networking and management. It is an ideal choice for Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT and advanced, future-proof installations.
