When the algorithms detect the presence of people in the designated area around the vehicle, they generate appropriate messages for the driver through the speaker in the monitor and an icon on the display. In addition to messages for the driver, an optional optical-acoustic siren can be added to the video monitoring system. This siren emits sound and flashes light to alert pedestrians to an approaching vehicle. By detecting people in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle, the system will contribute to increasing pedestrian safety. Pedestrians, who may not be visible to the driver, are warned of an approaching vehicle, giving them more time to react and avoid potential danger.
