Installation & Services Terms

These terms set out the procedure under which I Smart SIA (reg. No. 40203423730, Komētas iela 32-4, Riga, LV-1004) provides distribution board manufacturing, installation, electrical installation, and smart home programming services. The scope of services is always defined in writing — in the offer (estimate) or the order confirmation. Anything not expressly stated in the offer is not included in the price and is calculated separately in accordance with these terms. These terms form an integral part of every offer (estimate) and order confirmation: by approving the offer or placing an order, the customer confirms that they have read and agree to these terms.

1. Smart Panel (Smart Home Electrical Distribution Board): What Is Included in Delivery

Unless expressly stated otherwise in the offer, an order for a smart panel includes only:

  • design of the panel (component selection, layout diagram);
  • assembly and installation of the panel in the enclosure (internal wiring, workshop testing);
  • delivery to the site within the territory of Latvia.

Purchasing a smart panel or a smart home kit does not include the electrical installation of the entire house. Delivery does not include the following (each item is a separate service to be agreed and paid for separately):

  • physical installation of the panel on site (mounting on the wall, fitting into a recess);
  • connection of the panel to the building's wiring and incoming cables;
  • pulling cables, connecting wires on the load side, or additional cable or wiring;
  • construction work: chasing (colloquially "štrāba") for cable routes, drilling, cutting openings in walls, ceilings, or structures for cable runs, and creating recesses for mounting boxes;
  • labelling circuits on site and documenting the existing installation;
  • locating faults and determining the fault location in the existing electrical installation on site — this is not panel installation work and is always calculated separately based on time actually spent;
  • electrical installation test measurements and documentation for commissioning.

2. Cabling and Electrical Installation Work

Standard cable installation (where included in the offer) does not include chasing, drilling, or cutting openings in walls, ceilings, or creating recesses for mounting boxes. All such construction work is calculated in a separate estimate before work begins or — if the scope becomes apparent only during the course of the work — based on the actual number of hours in accordance with the rates in Section 5, after the scope and approximate cost have been agreed with the customer in writing (including by email or text message) before such work is started. Without such agreement, additional work is not carried out and is not charged.

Fixed electrical installation work is governed by the Latvian building code LBN 261-15; work is carried out and test measurements are documented by appropriately qualified specialists.

3. Programming and Configuration

  • Smart home programming is a separate paid service. It is included in the price of the goods or panel only if a specific scope of programming is expressly stated in the offer (for example, "configuration of 10 switches, 4 lighting scenes").
  • Any expansion of scope is an additional service. If, for example, the offer covers programming of 10 switches but the site actually has 20 switches, work beyond the agreed scope is charged separately at the rates in Section 5 or by separate agreement. We only begin work beyond the agreed scope after its scope and price have been agreed with the customer in writing.
  • Changes to logic that has already been agreed and programmed, reconfiguration following changes made by the customer, and integration of third-party devices or systems not mentioned in the offer are additional services.

4. Additional Work

Work not included in the offer is considered additional work. Additional work is carried out only after its scope and cost have been agreed with the customer in writing (including by email or text message), and is charged, depending on its complexity, according to the hourly rates (Section 5) or a separate estimate. Delays in the customer's provision of site access, obstacles created by other contractors, or inaccurate information about the site may change the timeline and costs.

5. Standard Rates

ServiceRate
Electrician's / installer's work20 EUR/h + VAT
Smart home programmer's work50 EUR/h + VAT

These rates apply unless a different fixed (lump-sum) price has been agreed in writing. The minimum billable time per site visit is 1 hour; after the first hour, time is counted in 30-minute increments (each 30-minute period started). Time on site is counted from arrival to completion of the work. A call-out fee for locations outside Riga is stated in the offer or agreed in writing before the work is ordered; if not agreed, no call-out fee is charged. Payment terms and procedure are stated in the offer or invoice.

6. Customer's Obligations and Acceptance of Work

  • provide access to the site and safe working conditions at the agreed time;
  • provide accurate information about the site (existing installation, diagrams, if any);
  • agree on solutions in a timely manner and accept the completed work.

Completion of the work is confirmed by the parties with an acceptance-transfer certificate (which may be electronic). If the customer fails to appear to accept the work within 5 working days of being invited to do so, and does not submit written, reasoned objections, the work is deemed accepted. This does not limit the consumer's right to file a claim in accordance with the procedure established by the Consumer Rights Protection Law.

7. Quality of Services and Consumer Rights

Consumers (natural persons) have the right, under the Consumer Rights Protection Law, to file a claim regarding a service that does not conform to the contract within two years from the date the service was received; the consumer must submit the claim within at least two months of the date the non-conformity was discovered (PTAL, Section 27(1)). The "Warranty & Returns" section also applies to distribution boards manufactured by us.

Where the contract is concluded as a distance contract or off-premises, the right of withdrawal does not apply: (a) to a service that has been fully performed, if performance began with the consumer's express prior consent and acknowledgment that they will lose the right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed (Cabinet Regulation No. 255, clause 22.1); (b) to goods — including distribution boards — made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized (clause 22.3).

In transactions with legal entities, the Civil Law and these terms apply; our total liability in such transactions is limited to the amount of the relevant order, and this limitation does not apply to intentional breach or gross negligence.
