Understand what each one actually does

Think about whether you need per-fixture control
If dimming a whole room or zone together is enough, 0-10V works well. If you want to control or check each light individually, or build scenes, that's a job for DALI.
Weigh how much planning you're willing to do
0-10V zones have to be decided at install time — each independent zone needs its own wire pair, and you can't reconfigure that in software later. DALI needs an addressing step upfront, but stays flexible afterward.
Check compatibility before you buy
If you go with 0-10V, check the driver datasheet to see whether it actually dims to 0V or just floors at a low level (1-10V behavior), and whether the dimmer and driver's source/sink types match.

Not every '0-10V' driver switches fully off
0V on a compliant 0-10V driver can dim the output fully to off, but 1-10V's range bottoms out at 1V — a low but non-zero output that needs a separate mains switch or relay to go fully off. Many drivers marketed as '0-10V' actually behave like 1-10V — always check the datasheet.
